Abstract
The epidemiological fact of 2015 MERS outbreak in Korea was that it involved hospital-to-hospital transmission by visitors to cases as well as intra-hospital transmission by cases. To minimize the risk of infection transmission via healthcare facilities, an action guideline for infection control precaution for visitors to patients as well as for healthcare workers would be needed. The main aim of this article is to develop the guideline, which visitors could understand and follow by themselves. To do this, two questions of the potentiality of infectivity and the vulnerability of a patient have to be asked for oneself. The answers make four groups classify such as Dangerous, Warning, Guarding and Ordinal group. Because of the self-learning and self-deciding process, the developed guideline might lead a higher level of cooperation and compliance of Korean visitors to admitted patients.
